Wake up early. Get breakfast made (and coffee) table set and ready. When my loving family wakes up we will be ready to get going on our day.
The two year old woke up at 6. That’s earlier than my “up early”. Dragging through breakfast prep while the rest of the family trickles out of bed, all before our normal wake time.
What is going on! Do they secretly know my plans and search out sabotage?
My plan for a peaceful breakfast is so far from reality while I stop eating and break up fights three times. The children have one volume, which reaches deafening decibels when they have to talk over each other to be heard.
How do I handle this when things don’t go my way, when my plans backfire like a bomb in my face?
Unfortunately, not well. I’m struggling this morning to have a helpful view of my day and what is to come.
Fortunately, Gods word has something to say about this.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
I’m so grateful that I have this to help refocus my heart and mind on where it’s supposed to be. And may we all have a blessed day this lovely Sunday!
