I’m sure I’m over thinking all of these.
1 What is your spirit animal and why?
Probably a horse. Because they are the closest to my heart of any animal I have ever known personally. They are closer to the full range of human complexity in their need for society and desire to run free. Beautiful kindred spirit.
2 Where are you from, and where else have you lived?
From Minnesota and call it home now. The only other place I have lived is California.
What was your favorite place to call home?
Wherever I am with my loved ones. I’m not sure picky, but I do want to be with the people I care about. Which means I will never stay far from home for too long.
3 What is your favorite restaurant or food truck and meal (Details please!  )?
Right now, this place called the T-Box in Ham Lake Minnesota. Way out of the way, but totally worth it. They keep the best of the locally brewed craft beer on tap and always have a new and exciting menu. Last time we went they had this prosciutto, feta, olives, honey, and amazing magic pizza. And jerk gnocchi. Amazing! A close second is the Wedge and Wheel in Stillwater. You gotta check it out!!
4 What is a super funny joke you have heard or like to tell? Or a riddle? I kind of have a sarcastic sense of humor, so my jokes are always spur of the moment and whatever the group is talking about. The last joke I heard was one my hubby tells: I was at the zoo and there was a baguette 🥖 in one of the cages. One of the zookeepers was nearby so I asked “what’s up with the baguette?” She said, “oh, that’s bread in captivity.”
5 What mythical creature do you wish actually existed?
Unicorns. Hands down. The Unicorn Chronicles changed my life as a preteen!
6 If you wrote an autobiography, what would you call it?
Right now? Modern Hadassah. I guess I kind of fancy that this is like that in a way…
7 What book, song or movie changed your life and why?
When I read Ivanhoe and The Last of the Mohicans in high school I knew I needed more from life than the daily grind. The characters of Rebekah and Cora became a calling to Womanhood that I had never experienced before and I have gone in search of my calling from God ever since!
8 What is the scariest thing you have ever experienced?
I was in a motorcycle accident, but I don’t remember fear gripping me as much as when I found out I was pregnant. Or the time I threw my then 2 year old first born into the river before my husband was ready to catch him and he went straight to the bottom. Luckily, my husband was able to go after him before the current took him too far. Or maybe when my oldest two were run over by a tractor.
I guess, mostly my kids.
9 What was the best thing that happened to you today?
Listening to a spoken word performance on being a woman from Jackie Hill Perry. And my sick children waking up a little more healthy. That’s nice, too.
10 What always cheers you up whenever you think about it?
Jesus.
Maybe a cop out, but still very true!
11 What is another talent or skill you’re proud of besides blogging?
Teaching, Gardening, Counseling. I love to do those things. Bible Study.
